Macquarie University Inspired Teaching Scholarship

The Department of Educational Studies offer a scholarship for the Graduate Certificate of Education Studies.

A teacher can use this opportunity to explore an issue of strategic interest in their school, build their professional capital, contribute to accreditation requirements, and facilitate career progression.

The scholarships target teachers with three or more full time equivalent years of teaching experience, which means that, with the 8cp of RPL they qualify for, students only complete two units to gain a certificate. The scholarship covers 50% of the tuition fees for these units.

Applicants will be required to submit a proposal which describes how their studies will lead to improved student outcomes in their school, and awarded a scholarship based on the merits of their proposal.

Applications can be submitted by individual teachers or by a groups of teachers, whether from a single school or a network of schools. These groups of teachers can work on different aspects of a larger project, thereby improving outcomes for a wider range of students.

The scholarships will be awarded in particular focus areas commencing in specific sessions over a two year cycle. Areas for 2018 include:

Session 1 2018

· Induction and mentoring of new teachers

· Assessment of and for learning

Session 2 2018

· Enhancing pedagogical practices

· Leadership for learning

Please note: Students also need to lodge an application for admissions for this course.
