Please complete this form if you want to apply for the Macquarie University Alumni Ani Apcarian Scholarship for 2018.
Ani Apcarian was a student in early childhood education, who very sadly lost her life in a plane crash in 2009. Ani was a very keen volunteer in the Armenian community, volunteering at the Armenian school. This scholarship honours Ani’s commitment to volunteering.
The successful applicant must demonstrate:
• That they are an Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident;
• That they have received an offer to study in Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Education)(Birth to 12), within the Department of Educational Studies at Macquarie University for the first time in 2018;
• Commitment to community service and volunteering; and
• Commitment to study
In addition students can demonstrate:
• Capacity to triumph over hardship which may include: financial disadvantage, sole parent or carer responsibilities, non- English speaking or Indigenous background, effects of trauma and/or abuse, long-term medical condition or disability or coming from a rural or remote area.
The scholarship will be valued at $2500 for 2018. The recipient will receive $1250 in each session. The timing of these payments are post census date (mid April and mid September). The scholarship is not renewable for 2018 or any subsequent years.

*Participation in clubs/school activities eg. debating;
*Sporting participation and achievements;
*Other activities (eg. work experience/study tours/extra-curricular activities/community involvement).
